Urgency. It’s time. Kids are desperate and hopeless; languishing in foster care as we work to create programs to help find families for them. They are counting on us. They are counting on me. And I haven’t done enough. There is SO much yet to be done; awareness to raise, battles to fight, hearts to tenderize, hope to instill, families to find. I am not equipped. I don’t have the answers or the expertise.
But I know the One who does. And I belief with all of my heart that He is calling me, us, His children to dream big and more importantly to pray hard; to pray BOLDLY. These waiting kids deserve nothing less. They are voiceless and often forgotten. They are being parented by a system that isn’t equipped or commanded to parent them. They are losing precious time. And it’s up to us to cry out boldly to the Father on their behalf.
I’m putting it in writing, my friends, I’m praying boldly. I am dreaming big and I am praying hard for God to move mountains on behalf of waiting kids. Praying that He will move in the hearts of His people and that when it is over, there will be no kids left waiting, zero. And more than that, that in the end all of the glory will shine on a heavenly Father who really does set the lonely in families. As with Nehemiah, who went boldly before the King, found his favor and within 52 days the wall of Jerusalem was rebuilt. That, just like Nehemiah, the critics will be silenced-that their only words will be “surely the good hand of their God was upon them”. Oh my goodness- what an incredible day that would be.
