I know folks who follow my blog think I’ve moved out of the country! Things in the Erwin household have been very busy and at times intense lately. The case with our precious foster daughter has become more and more complicated and I have become more and more heavy-hearted. She is absolutely beautiful with the sweetest temperament. We all love her to pieces and are praying for God’s perfect and miraculous plan for her life. I told Jeff last week that I was just emotionally ‘spent’….weary.
There are so many great things happening with Project Zero and the upcoming album release and yet I feel as though I’m walking around with a huge cloud overhead. So, please pray for us- mainly our baby girl. She deserves only the best and that is this momma’s prayer for her.
On the bright side, I have to share the music video for the first single from Project Zero’s album ‘Grafted’ that will be released on November 1!!! Please share it!! I would appreciate it so much!!!

Christie, I can tell you are weary and am praying for your mama’s fiercely loving heart as you hang out in limbo land – the very hardest place to be! I understand the fuzziness that comes with loving kids with every ounce of your being but at the end of the day, not being able to control the outcome…In fact, I am there right now too with my sweet foster son and have many foster/adoptive friends hanging out in this place where we are walking the tightrope between advocacy, trust and surrender with mind-boggling circumstances. I am praying you have the ability to stay present in the midst of this cloud overhead and soak up the goodness of having your sweet daughter for this day, despite all the details that may make us want make a run for the border…(Ok, you don’t know me so I must tell you I say this lightheartedly, though I know every parent who loves their child would go anywhere if that meant they could be assured their child would remain loved and safe…) Prayers for stamina being sent your way…
Thank you so much Jillana. I am grateful for your words of encouragement-so blessed to have other moms who totally understand! God bless you guys!
Thank you for your blog! We have been fostering since February, and are on our second round of kiddos (ages 1 and 2). And we have two bio kids ages 6 and 9. I was up at 5 listening to the fussing little ones, reading your blog, and weeping. Thanks for the encouragement of your honesty, and the example of 19 years of experience. Emotions are raw around here, and stress is high, but His mercies are new every morning, and great is His faithfulness! God bless your family and your ministry.
Thank you so much Selena. What an encouragement to me today! God bless you guys as you love on your precious ones!!
Christie, I just stumbled across your blog while doing some research for my most recent blog post. quoted a few lines from your blog in my post, I hope that’s okay! (http://fosterdreams.blogspot.com/2012/10/31-days-to-let-truth-about-foster-care_4.html)
I am SO excited to read more about your journey! Reading your slogan for Project Zero, “Imagine a World where 1+1= 0,” I cried, what a beautiful thought! If there is any way that I can partner with you on Project Zero or with foster care in general, please let me know. It is so wonderful to meet people like you, working tirelessly to make a difference in this system and in the lives of these children. Blessings! ~Tristen
Thank you so much Tristen! I appreciate your encouraging words so much!! I’ll add you to our Project Zero email list so you can keep up with what’s going on!
Love and blessings,
Christie
