Yesterday we (Project Zero) hosted a Salon Day for 6 girls; we met at Salon Nichelle for new hairdo’s and then headed over to David’s Burgers for lunch. What an incredible gift to get to spend time with kids we are praying for and working to find families for! These days are so full of joy and excitement, but also carry with them a tangible heaviness that is not easy to shake.
Yesterday’s event certainly had its share of beauty. There were a couple of mom’s there that our adoption unit had asked to volunteer so that they could interact in a non-threatening way with girls they had been ‘matched’ with. It was so precious to see the love and nurture begin to grow in such a short amount of time. What a gift to watch as the foundational bond between these mothers and daughters was laid. And what a testimony, once again, to God’s provision in the lives of these deserving children.
And then there was a moment, the moment, that caused my heart to sink and snapped me back into reality; reality with vivid clarity of the enormous task we have before us. A beautiful 6 year old looked me straight in the eye and said “I wish I was your daughter’. Just typing that made my breath escape. No child should have to wish for a mother. No child should have to long for something so fundamental. My heart broke for her but my resolve to find the perfect family for her rose to the surface. She deserves nothing less.
Would you join me in praying for Project Zero-that we would be a conduit for change? Would you pray for me and for Caryl as we immerse ourselves in all that God is setting before us? And most importantly, would you pray for the over 500 children in AR and over 100,000 in the US who long to have a family? We have a clear mission and I am grateful for a heavenly Father who is willing and able to help us win!

We are praying, praying, praying. This past Fall our small church took on praying for 40days and gathering once a week to pray together for the unborn and the children in foster care. I was taken by the families that came out to pray each week. We also have added the CALL info for anyone feeling called. My husband and I just walk through our last pride training class today. We are prayfully trusting in HIM to lead us. So happy to have poeple as yourself in our lives to look to as we follow. Blessings, Catherine Anne
